While Nedbank internet banking can guarantee faster ways of making stress-free transactions in your bank account, it can also pose a lot of risks, especially if you don’t follow the rules of online banking.<\/p>\n

Consequently, Nedbank has warned of a\u00a0current scam making its rounds. The scam involves people posing as representatives from Nedbank or IT companies such as Microsoft. These bogus representatives (fraudsters)\u00a0randomly contact customers and offer to help them\u00a0solve a computer related problem or try to sell them a software licence.<\/p>\n
Subsequently, the fraudsters will\u00a0ask their target to access a website or click on a link for further information.\u00a0Once clicked, the link will allow them access to your computer, from passwords to all the personal details you can ever think of. All these will be done without the victim’s knowledge while they will claim that they are doing the repairs or downloading the software purchased.<\/p>\n

As soon as they gain access to your computer they will be able to do any of the following:<\/p>\n
At this point, they can afford to just sweep the victim’s bank account clean without any trace. However, if you fall victim to this scam or carried out any of the aforementioned steps, there are measures you need to take as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
