He holds the distinction of being the first black South African standup humorist. He performed his first major comedy gig at the Smirnoff International Comedy Festival in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Following an exceptional performance, he was given another opportunity the following year to perform at the same festival. Additionally, it was discovered that as of early 2022, he owed over R275,000 in arrears.<\/p>\n<p>A debt counsellor or mediator was requested by the comedian but was later turned down by the banking institution.
