Applicants for NSFAS funding can easily check their application status on the MyNSFAS portal using their student ID number and password.

If the NSFAS application is successful, the applicant will proceed to register at the chosen public university or TVET. And after the registration details have been sent to the funding body, the student will receive the bursary. However, if the National Student Financial Aid Scheme fails to receive the registration details, then the status of the application will remain at ‘Provisionally funded’.

Can I Check NSFAS Status Using the ID Number?

Yes, you can check for your NSFAS status using your student ID number, which serves as the username for logging into the organization’s portal. While creating a new account on the National Student Financial Aid Scheme website, you will be asked to submit your first and last names as seen on your student ID.

This is followed by the submission of your ID number and email address before you provide a password to protect the newly created account. Afterward, you will gain access to the portal with your username, which is your ID number and password.
