The registration process is straightforward and does not require you to visit a Telkom outlet because the entire process can be done online with your smartphone, and you don&#8217;t need a customer care agent to work you through the process.<\/p>\n<p>To create and register an account in the Telkom customer portal at your comfort and convenience, follow the steps below. A laptop will be a preferable gadget for a better user experience, but you can use a smartphone in its absence.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the Telkom register page on their website.<\/li>\n<li>Fill in the required details on the Telkom Self-service registration form. You will be required to give details like your SA identity number, name (including surname), and email address.<\/li>\n<li>Note that your email address should be used as your username.<\/li>\n<li>You will be required to create an eight-digit strong password that contains a number and alphabets (both upper and lower cases).<\/li>\n<li>An OTP will be sent to the email address you provided. All you have to do is log in with the username and password you created during your registration process. If you have forgotten either your username and\/or password, it&#8217;s nothing to worry about as Telkom has made provision for such events.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to Recover Your Telkom Username<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the official Telkom website<\/li>\n<li>Click the menu bar and select <strong>Login<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Forgot Username<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The ID number and the type of ID you inputted during your registration will be requested.<\/li>\n<li>An OTP will be sent to the email address linked to the ID number &#8211; that email address should be your username.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>How to Recover Your Telkom Password<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the official Telkom website<\/li>\n<li>Click the menu bar and select <strong>Login<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Forgot Password<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>You will be required to provide an email address.<\/li>\n<li>An OTP will be sent to the email address, which you will use to reset your password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alternatively, you can send an SMS with the word <strong>&#8216;Password&#8217;<\/strong> to <strong>0123210215,<\/strong> and a new password will be sent to your phone via SMS.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>These Are Services You Can Access Through The Telkom Self-service Portal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There are a good number of things you can do with your self-service portal. Using this platform will save you from a lot of stress and time trying to get to a customer service agent.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>You can buy data bundles from the self-service portal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>One of the things you can do with your self-service portal is <a href=\"https:\/\/buzzsouthafrica.com\/how-to-check-telkom-airtime-and-data-balance-with-or-without-code\/\">purchasing data bundles<\/a> and even airtime. If you wish to make use of this service, here is how to go about it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn on your mobile data on your phone. This process requires an internet connection.<\/li>\n<li>Visit the Telkom official website and log in to your self-service portal.<\/li>\n<li>Select the option to buy data bundles<\/li>\n<li>Select the data bundle you will like to purchase<\/li>\n<li>Pay for the bundle. To use the portal to settle your bills, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the official Telkom website<\/li>\n<li>Log in to your self-service portal<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>&#8216;Pay Bills&#8217;<\/strong> option<\/li>\n<li>Select your preferred mode of payment<\/li>\n<li>For those paying through their ATM cards, you will be required to input the card details.<\/li>\n<li>Those paying through electronic fund transfer will be redirected to the Payment page to select their South African bank. On this page, you will be required to input your Telkom account number and reference number.<\/li>\n<li>After passing the <strong>Mode of Payment<\/strong> stage, you will then be required to input the amount you wish to pay.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>&#8216;Proceed with Payment&#8217;<\/strong> to complete the payment process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Your SIM history can be accessed via the self-service portal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Checking your Telkom SIM card history is another thing you can do on the self-service portal. To do this, log in to the portal and click on <strong>Current SIM Usage<\/strong>. If you are using your current Telkom SIM to carry out these activities, you do not need to log in.
