The socialite and often controversial businessman was known as someone who always had his way and got whatever he wanted.<\/p>\n
He made his first fortune from the smuggling business. According to his cousin, Wanisayi Mutandwa, he was the one who was first into the smuggling of Remington Gold cigarettes before Genius later joined him. When they sent him to the border, he would spend the money, only to come back and apologize.<\/p>\n
What would later be pointed to be the source of his massive wealth is his conglomerate of gas companies, Piko Trading Group. The company was in different countries in the Southern African sub-region. Another thing that added to his already huge fortune was his night club, Dreams Nightlife Club.<\/p>\n
He was respected mainly because of his hard work, but almost everyone close to him seemed to agree after his death that he always got what he wanted by hook or by crook, and a good part of his wealth was probably through cunning and shrewd ways.<\/p>\n
The fun-loving Ginimbi’s name was dragged more than once on issues relating to the controversial acquiring of wealth. It was once alleged that he refused to repay South Africa-based business tycoon Mutumwa Mawere an R340 000 debt, which he collected. Although the businessman threatened to take legal actions, Genuis insisted the claim was not true. On another occasion, he was alleged to have defrauded Zanu PF MP Gatawa of R1 581 890. There were also cases of tax evasion, among other things, against him.<\/p>\n
