The University of the Free State (UFS) was first established in 1904 as a higher cadre of learning for Grey College, and it was called Grey University College (GUC). However, the university has since gone through several changes, structurally and systematically, including its nomenclature, to achieve its present status as one of the most revered institutes of higher learning in Africa. With its major campus located in Bloemfontein, the capital of the Free State, the university has since evolved to become a multi-campus public university with campuses that include the Qwaqwa campus and South campus.<\/p>\n

Established in the Apartheid era in South Africa<\/a>, the institution was originally designed to take only white students but with the end of the apartheid regime in 1994, the university was fully de-segregated two years later and would appoint its first vice-chancellor of color in 2010. There are three major steps to becoming a student in any of UFS campuses: apply for your program of choice (online\/offline), get your admission, and then register with the university as a student.<\/p>\n

How To Apply For Admission at the University of Free State (UFS)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Applying for admission to the University of the Free State (UFS) can be done both online and offline, that is, by downloading the admission form from the website, filling it, and sending it to the school by post or by going to submit it yourself. The choice of how you apply – online or offline – is totally left to your discretion. However, here are basic rules you are to follow irrespective of the method of application to decide to choose.<\/p>\n
