Victim Chews Off Rapist’s Tongue – It has been reported that a 23-year-old man lost a good portion of his tongue to a 38-year-old woman he tried to rape.
According to Free State SAPS (South African Police Service), the man had to let the woman go. He rushed to a hospital to fix his damaged tongue and was subsequently arrested.
After the man was arrested, he was dragged to Reitz Magistrate’s Court for the crime and is currently behind bars.
In a statement, police confirmed that the victim bit off the rapist’s tongue. Excerpts from the statement read thus:
“It is alleged that the victim was attacked by an unknown knife-wielding man while entering her home just after one o’clock in Petsana-Reitz.
During the struggle, she managed to sink her teeth in the suspects’ tongue.
The suspect let her go and went to the hospital where he received medical treatment before being placed under arrest, wearing the same clothes which had been described by the victim.”
Meanwhile, the Eastern Cape police welcomed the 18 years imprisonment handed to a rapist by the Tsomo Regional Magistrate Court.
“…We trust that the lengthy sentence will serve as a deterrent to criminals preying on our children who are not in a position to defend themselves,” stated the police.
