Their perfect life, however, crumbled in 1975 after her husband was apprehended by the authorities. They lost all their money and properties. Her husband was also charged with several offenses which potentially carried a 70-year jail term.<\/p>\n<p>Farrait\u2019s husband was able to reach a deal with the authorities and he served only five years in jail. During this period, Farrait and her daughter lived in a witness protection program and she visited her husband often. They began selling drugs and did this for three years before they were apprehended by the police. Julianna Farrait was sentenced to five years in jail for <a href=\"https:\/\/gangstergirlsdocumentary.wordpress.com\/tag\/frank-lucas\/\">aiding<\/a> her husband\u2019s narcotic trade while he got seven. She, however, temporarily split from him upon her release from prison in 1989. At that time, her husband was still incarcerated and they were naturally separated. She however refused to cohabit with him even after he was released in 1991 and they lived apart for some years.<\/p>\n<p>Sometime in the mid-90s, Julianna Farrait relocated back to her native Puerto Rico to<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/5i9YO\"> chill out<\/a>. She lived there for several years but she and Frank Lucas maintained some form of communication during this period and they later reconciled.<\/p>\n<p>By 2005, Julianna Farrait moved back to New York and resumed her marriage with Frank Lucas. She cared for him as he was wheelchair-bound. Sadly, she got back into the drug trade along the way. The authorities became aware of this and started monitoring her.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2010, they arrested her for trying to sell heroin. Julianna had attempted to sell the illegal substance to an individual in a Puerto Rico hotel room and did not know that the buyer was a police informant.<\/p>\n<p>The cops swooped down on her and arrested her. She was later charged to court and her trial lasted for more than a year. In February 2012, she was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2108022\/Wife-American-Gangster-Frank-Lucas-jailed-years-plotting-sell-cocaine.html\">sentenced<\/a> to a five-year jail term. She, however, managed to complete schooling with top grades and studied public relations in college.<\/p>\n<p>Francine\u2019s experiences have inspired her to set up Yellow Brick Roads, a program that provides resources for children with incarcerated parents. She has become an advocate for the issue and has spoken out about her personal and family experiences on several occasions. Francine Lucas-Sinclair is married to Mark Sinclair, a Jamaican-born tech specialist, and they have two kids at least.<\/p>\n<p>Asides from her biological child, Julianna Farrait also acted as a doting stepmother to the six kids that her husband had with other women.
