Deborah Ellen Wahlberg, known as Debbie Wahlberg was born on the 8th of July, 1960 in Dorchester, Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States of America. She was born and raised in a large family of eleven. Debbie happened to be the first child of the nine children. Her mother, Alma Elaine (nee Donnelly) was a bank clerk at the time she was born. Donald Edmond, her father was a delivery driver, before he switched into the army. Debbie Wahlberg’s father was of Irish and Swedish descent while her mother belongs to English and French Canadian ancestry. The family is a well-known one due to their works in the entertainment industry.
Initially, her father was an actor, who became famous for his appearance in the movie, Southie. At a young age, her father and mother separated and she had to juggle living with both parents alongside her eight siblings. Debbie had problems with her kidneys in the last years of her life. She had stones in her kidney, according to the doctor’s report and it required an operation. The surgery was scheduled on the 2nd September 2003 at Boston Clinic. It was meant to be a regular operation but unfortunately went wrong. Debbie Wahlberg suffered a heart attack during the procedure and it was one she never recovered from. There also happened to be another infection in her bloodstream, which eventually led to her death.
Debbie passed away on the 2nd of September, 2003 at the age of 43 years. Surprisingly, the day of her death was the day Mark, her younger brother welcomed his first child. After Mark welcomed his first child into the world, the happiness was quickly replaced with sorrow after his sister, Debbie Wahlberg passed away. He described that incident as ‘the best and worst day of his life.’ It felt like a replacement: one comes to the world; the other goes away. Every year, on his daughter’s birthday, he shares pictures of Debbie Wahlberg to honor her and in remembrance of her. Her obituary described her as a loving mother, sister, and daughter.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mark further said that his sister’s death came as a shock to the whole family, especially for his mother. Mark said his mother went into instant depression after the bad news.
