Before meeting Cesar Millan, she worked as a stylist and wardrobe consultant. The dog died in February of 2010 and exacerbating Millan’s pain was finding out in May of the same year that his wife Illusion was making plans to divorce him. He had to take a break from his acclaimed show. It was all too much for Millan that he attempted suicide, but fortunately, he managed to pick himself up, and just when he got going with life again, luck smiled on him as he met Jahira Dar the same year. The pair began dating almost immediately. Perhaps, their shared love for dogs helped propel things really quickly. Millan gushed over Dar to People Magazine, saying that she came into his life at just the right time and was instrumental in helping him rebuild his life and family. He described her with the words “compassionate, gentle, instinctual, spiritual, intelligent, fun, strong, adventurous, and loving.” The TV personality added that his partner embodied the principles he prized the most – “honesty, integrity, and loyalty.” Cesar Millan popped the question to Jahira Dar on the 24th of March 2016. He revealed to People Magazine that he spent months planning for the engagement day as he wanted it to be a special day and a surprise. He added that he was proud of himself that he did not give the surprise away. After revealing that she had said yes via an Instagram post, Jahira told People that his “pack” was complete in an exclusive interview. The couple was out on vacation in Spain, and Italy was their next stop, but Millan secretly had the tickets changed to Greece. In Athens, while having dinner atop Mount Lycabettus and overlooking the Acropolis, Millan asked Dar to be his wife while a violinist played soft tunes in the background. In recent years, not much has been said about them in the media, and while they are yet to be married as far as we know, it is unclear whether or not they are still engaged. The couple does not have kids together; however, Millan has two sons with his ex-wife, Illusion. As with his ex-wife Illusion, Cesar Millan involved his new girlfriend in his business. Before their divorce, Illusion whom he was married to for 16 years collaborated with him to found Millan Foundation which provided financial support to animal shelters and organizations engaged in the rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing of abused and abandoned animals, and to fund spay/neuter programs to help reduce dog overpopulation. The foundation said it aimed to “improve the health, happiness, and harmony of dogs and people – while helping both species learn from and support each other.” In one of her projects, the foundation collaborated with Yale University to create a children’s curriculum based on his findings and discoveries with dogs over the years. After they started dating, Jahira Dar began working as the creative director for Millan’s company. According to the company’s LinkedIn page, it is a multi-media company encompassing TV shows, live shows, digital media, marketing, books, merchandise, tours, training programs, and the renowned Dog Psychology Center. The company adds that it provides individual services for all advertisers and partners, from straightforward ad campaigns to yearlong custom solutions. The company’s workforce is between 11 and 50 employees. With Dar as an employee at the company, it launched a number of TV shows, including Cesar Millan’s Leader of the Pack and Cesar 911, which both aired on Nat Geo Wild. Other TV shows were Nickelodeon’s Mutt & Stuff and Cesar Millan’s Dog Nation. Dar appeared as Cesar’s girlfriend in the 2012 documentary about him titled Cesar Millan: The Real Story.
