She gave updates on how painful her treatment was. She also shared pictures of regaining some of her hair after losing it. Holli DeWees also shared some of the negative feelings that she had during the whole thing. It wasn’t easy but she put on a cheerful and determined spirit. She equally tried to maintain a semblance of normalcy for her two beloved kids and took them out to do fun stuff when she worked up the energy for that.
Her Family Organized Several Fundraisers for her Before She Passed Away in July 2021
Holli DeWees valiantly fought cancer for a year and nine months. Her health however kept on deteriorating. Cancer spread to other parts of her body, including her brain. She spent several months in the hospital and eventually had to retire to a care home. Through it all, Holli DeWees’ family and friends tried to support her as much as possible.
They set up several fundraising efforts on GoFundMe to help her raise money to take care of her medical bills, as well as provide for her kids. The first GoFundMe effort was set up on the 1st of October 2020, a month after her cancer diagnosis. It had a goal of $25,000 and surpassed it by totaling $27,345 from 960 donors. The major beneficiary was DeWees’ family.
Another fundraising effort for Hollie DeWees was set up by her family on GoFundMe on the 18th of March 2021. This was about six months into her cancer battle and had a target of $25,000. The aim was also to help out DeWees and her family. This fundraiser raised $24,725 from 514 donors. Asides from the monetary donations, several people left kind wishes for DeWees hoping that she would make it. She however died sometime in July 2021.
