Heather Clem is the second ex-wife of Bubba Clem, mostly known as Bubba the Love Sponge, a well-known radio host, and reality celebrity. She came into the spotlight following her marriage to the aforementioned radio host but blew up in the media following her infamous sex tape starring herself and Hollywood wrestling legend, Hulk Hogan, who also happened to be the best friend of her then-husband, Bubba The Love Sponge.
While celebrity sex tapes have become somewhat of a common phenomenon over the years, in the past, it has served as a kind of launchpad for a number of celebrities who have been able to leverage something that initially caused the public to shame them, and turned it into a brand or empire.
From Kim Kardashian to Kendra Wilkinson, Pamela Anderson, and Paris Hilton, a number of celebs have been able to turn their fates around through sex tapes, however, some celebs have not been so lucky. A good case in point is Heather Clem.
Heather Clem, born Heather Dawn Cole, was born on the 1st of July 1974 in West Virginia City, West Virginia, USA. While there is no information on record concerning the names and/or professions of her parents, siblings, or any kind of relatives famous or otherwise, we do know she is Caucasian and was raised as a Christian. Not a lot is known about her childhood. Heather attended a local high school and went on to attend the University of Arizona where she bagged a degree. However, following graduation, this celeb decided to venture into business. Cole started her career in the entertainment industry as a model and was featured on the cover of many magazines, including Playboy. Later down the line, following her career as a Playmate, she dipped her toe into the acting pool, staring in a number of films such as The Merman Prince of El Presidente Emperor Warlord!, Crafting With Connie, and The Barren Pine. It is unclear when exactly Clem met Cole but the two began dating around the last half of 2006 when they were 40 and 32 years old respectively. The two tied the knot in January of 2007 with wrestling legend Hulk Hogan standing as best man. Although the plan was for Bubba to become a dentist, he ditched that plan and dropped out to pursue a career as a radio presenter after his best friend Larry Plummer figured out that he was perfect for radio. Following three years of seemingly blissful marriage, in 2010, their relationship hit a rough patch and the two began living separately. Finally, on the 15th of September in 2011, after merely four years of marriage, the two were divorced. Bubba filed for divorce on grounds of irreconcilable differences. Their divorce settlement was rather amicable, considering as part of the agreement, both parties coincided to not defame the other in any way during the process. In the end, the terms of the settlement required Bubba to pay Heather a total of $1,150 per month over the period of 56 months in addition to a one time pay off of $20,000, as well as an unspecified sum to her IRA account, as reported by Tampa Bay Times. As part of the settlement, Heather was also allowed to keep her job working for him at Bubba Radio Network for as long as Bubba was required to pay her alimony (56 months). Since the couple had no children together, Bubba was not required to pay child support. While their union brought forth no children, the two have one child each from their previous marriages, Tyler Clem from Bubba’s ninety-one-day-long marriage and Julia Champ (pictured below) from Heather’s marriage to an ex-husband whose name is yet to be revealed. While Heather Clem was simply famous by extension at the beginning of her relationship with her then-husband Bubba The Love Sponge Clem, it was not until after her marriage was over that she achieved notoriety brought on by a leaked sex tape she made alongside Terry Bollea also known as wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. The sex tape, though filmed sometime in 2006, was leaked in 2012 by a New York-based media company – Gawker. As mentioned before, the sex tape was filmed in 2006 before the Clems tied the knot, at that time, Hogan was still married to his then-wife; Linda Hogan (born Linda Marie Claridge) whom he ended up divorcing in 2009. Back then, Hogan’s marriage had hit a rough patch, so as the story goes: in a bid to cheer Hogan up over his troubled marriage, Bubba offered up his then-girlfriend, a consenting Heather, to him to “cheer” him up. Heather claims that she and Bubba were in an open relationship at the time so everything was done with all three parties’ consent, however, she claims that at the time of her rendezvous with Hogan, the two were unaware they were being filmed. When the tape leaked in October 2012, it quickly went viral and in response to this, Hogan sued Gawker for sharing the short clip on grounds of invasion of privacy and defamation. In response to the lawsuit, Gawker was made to pay Hogan a grand total of $140 million. Hogan also went on to sue Bubba and Heather for filming him without his permission, the lawsuit was settled and Hogan was paid $5000. Following her stint in the movie industry, Clem ventured into the health and fitness industry and never looked back, first starting out as a fitness instructor at the Advo Care Institute. Presently, she works as a level one Cross-Fit instructor (CF-L1), in addition to this, she also posts fitness videos on her Instagram account, as well as leveraging her account and making money off of her posts and partnerships. After the sex tape debacle, the three parties involved went on to live separate lives. Bubba and Hogan are no longer friends and Heather lives in Tampa Bay, Florida.
