He worked with them for a year, before he signed a contract and moved over to Cedar Rapids Kernels, at the age of 21. In 2006, Richard was transferred twice, that is to Silver Sox at first. Then from there, he moved to Swing of the Quad Cities that same year. He played for them for about a year, before he signed another contract with Nashua Pride in 2007.
Richard put a pause on his career for the whole of 2008 and this lasted for a year. He lifted the self-imposed hiatus in 2009 and went back to playing. He signed with one of his favorite teams; Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, where he played for four whole years. He ended his professional baseball career in 2012, and subsequently terminated his contract with Sothern Maryland Blue Crabs.
