After Kid Laroi met producer Khaled Rohaim, he started taking him for recording at the studio and giving him extra work writing songs for some artists. There was an instance where he wrote a track that later featured A Boogie. Kid had to sneak into the studio to meet him; the two eventually recorded one song together.

On the 16th of August 2018, the then 14-year-old Kid Laroi successfully dropped his first extended play entitled 14 with a Dream. The EP included notable collaborations with music greats like Manu Crooks, Miracle, and B Wise.
The month was a good one for the blossoming rapper cum singer as that was when he earned public attention in the contest known as Triple J Unearthed, where he made it to the final stage.

After inking a recording deal with Sony Music Australia on the 24th of July 2020, Charlton compiled his first mixtape, F*uck Love. This particular release announced him to a wider audience as it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. Currently. It is topping the chart on Australian ARIA.
The hit tracks “Stay “with Justin Bieber and “Without You” gave him more notoriety.
