Julian Corrie Broadus Bio – Meet Laurie Holmond and Snoop Dogg’s Son

Julian Corrie Broadus (born 18th June 1998) is an aspiring musician famous for being the son of ace rapper Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., better known as Snoop Dogg.

For a long time, he was not known as Snoop Dogg’s son until a shock revelation to the public in 2008. Hitherto, Snoop Dogg’s kids with his wife Shante Taylor, who was his high school sweetheart, were his only known children. Thus, it came as a shock that the rapper had fathered a child with another woman that was not Shante. These days Julian Corrie Broadus, who shares an uncanny resemblance with his father, is a grown man who, in a bid to step out of his father’s shadow, is passionately pursuing his interests.

Who Is Julian Corrie’s Mother?

The one-woman that fans of Snoop Dogg knew him for was Shante Taylor, his high school sweetheart, whom he fathered two sons with before their marriage on 12th June 1997. What was not publicly known about Snoop was that he had fathered a child with another woman who was not Shante. He had a fling with a certain Laurie Halmond, who also attended the same high school as himself and Shante. His extra-marital affair with Laurie resulted in the pregnancy and birth of Julian Corrie Broadus in 1998, who would become Snoop Dogg’s third son.

As the story goes, when Snoop found out about Laurie’s pregnancy, he was scared to tell her. He, however, took responsibility for the pregnancy and was beside Laurie when she bore Julian in 1998. While it is unknown to the public when Snoop broke the news of his love child to his wife, Shante, the people came to know in 2007.

Laurie had grown tired of Snoop ignoring their son Julian and, as a result, took him to court to establish paternity and also make him the legal father of Julian. It was also during this time that the rapper debuted his reality TV show Father Hood, which chronicled his family life. Julian was not featured on the show, and according to Deez Gossip, Julian, who was nine years old at the time, wished he could also be featured on the show to get the opportunity to bond with his half-siblings. Though Julian did not immediately build a relationship with his father, they got closer with time. When asked in one interview about his relationship with his father, Julian replied that they had a relationship but were still working on it.

Like His Father, Julian Corrie Broadus is Also a Musician

With the spotlights on him as Snoop Dogg’s son, Julian Corrie has received interest in his life from fans of his father, and this can be seen in his growing number of followers on his verified Instagram page. Julian seemed to have inherited a lot from his father, Snoop, including his height and passion for music. He attended Diamond Bar High School, where he had two major extra-curricula interests – basketball and music.

However, he did not seem to do too well in basketball; he revealed in an interview that when he played basketball, he found it challenging to be unique. Also, a hand injury he had sustained while playing saw him kiss any prospects in the sports goodbye, leaving him with one focus – music. Albeit, he still plays basketball during leisure. He has played alongside several NBA stars at Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Academy.

Music, Broadus said, interests him more than basketball. He appeared on Jackie Elam’s radio show, where he said that he had begun working on his music. Asked about the pressure of being the son of a very successful musician, Broadus replied that he did not want people comparing him to his father or thinking that he made it only because his father was behind him and had put him in the right positions. Unlike his father, his genre of focus is pop and RnB.

He put out a couple of songs but admitted, during the aforementioned interview, that he had to take them down as he realized that he still had much work to do. Julian does appreciate his father’s sacrifices and has shown appreciation to him via a couple of Instagram posts. Alongside his two half-brothers, Julian appeared in the music video for his father’s 2004 song Drop it Like It’s Hot, featuring Pharrell Williams.

Besides Music, Julian Broadus Has Other Interests

After high school, Julian Broadus attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he majored in Biology. There were reports that he had planned to switch his major to business. These days, Julian Broadus seems to have found another interest – real estate. Now a resident of the Long Beach area, Julian revealed via Instagram that he is an employee of the prestigious real estate group Agents of LA. The real estate company has on its clientele several celebrities.

According to The Blast, Broadus’s new role would see him work as the apprentice of the company’s CEO, Tai Savet, granting him the opportunity to work on some of the most luxurious and pricy real estates in Los Angeles. It would not be surprising to see Broadus on TV as Tai Savet’s new apprentice, the executive producer of the VH1 reality TV show Love & Listings. Julian Broadus would not be the first celebrity kid to feature on the show, which already has on its cast Jacob Knight, the son of rapper Suge Knight.

If his Instagram snaps are anything to go by, Julian Broadus seems to be enjoying his career in real estate. He often posts photos of himself looking very fashionable. However, it remains to be seen if this would be the ultimate career path he chooses. Considering his runway-worthy outfits, as seen on Instagram, it would not be surprising if his next field of interest is in the fashion industry. Broadus seems to still have one foot in music as he frequently puts out posts relating to the music industry.
