Two Women Raped Another With Teaspoon In Cape Town


It’s as though some people are prepared, ready and waiting to proof you wrong just when you’re about to think you’ve heard the worst possible news about sex crimes in South Africa. In accordance to a recent report, two women were apprehended in Cape Town as they allegedly beat-up and raped another woman with a teaspoon at the L section of the Lusaka informal settlement in Nyanga.

It was gathered that the women aged 35 and 34, decided to deal with their victim (34) for cheating with one of their husbands.

Confirming the event, police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk related that the victim was first beaten up by the two suspects who later dragged her into a house, where they compelled her to lie down and subsequently raped her, taking turns to shove a teaspoon into her vagina.

The suspects appeared before the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court with a rape charge laid against them. Nonetheless, the two women as gathered can’t apply for bail and will as such, remain behind bars until their next court appearance scheduled on the 29th day of this month.

A Neighbor identified as Nomzi Ngobe who witnessed the crime said it was difficult to believe that the women could do such a thing to another women.

“I am an adult, and I have never seen this in all my life. It’s sad that women treat each other like this…These evil people must learn to use police and courts to deal with complaints, not take the law into their own hands. They are also women, they should know better. It is disgusting for us women,” the 66-year-old lady said.

Rape and other sex crimes have long afflict South Africa in the most unimaginable ways. For instance, a recent publication here reported about how the police in Kwazulu-Natal province arrested over 360 person for sex crime within a month.

Also recently, a woman who was waiting to receive treatment, was raped at the emergency unit of the South Rand Hospital while she was lying on a stretcher. Although the 59-year old culprit was a man discharged from the psychiatric ward of the hospital and was waiting to be collected, the point remains that rape in South Africa are happening in ways and manners that are highly unpleasant.
