Twitter Mourns Khaya Mthethwa After Spotting Him With Kelly

Premature condolences were streaming in from Twitter users on Sunday after controversial singer Kelly Khumalo posted a snapshot of herself with Asine hitmaker Khaya Mthethwa.

Arguably, Kelly jokingly captioned the picture – “sitting next to bae”. But that was all the info needed by Twitter users to come to the conclusion that Khaya is on a highway to premature death.

Nonetheless, most of the comments were ironic. Condolences were addressed to Mthethwa’s family, saying his “application for a death certificate was pending”.

Kelly has been called a lot of names in the past including “babes wokufa” (babes of death). Unfortunately, she has had two exboyfriends – Prosper Mkwaiwa and Senzo Meyiwa, who all died young. And now Twitter users are afraid that the same fate will befall Idols SA winner Khaya Mthethwa.

Nevertheless, the songstress is not letting the vicissitudes of life define her. In fact, she had a good laugh at the “stupidity” of the comments about Mthethwa dying soon because he was her “bae”.

“Twitter folks are so predictable, I’m sitting laughing my lungs out on how stupid ya’ll can be,” she said.

Her comment received even more negative comments from fans, who said it was a pity Senzo was not there to share the laughter with her.

“Pity Senzo isn’t here to share the laughter with you.”

Still, Kelly insisted she doesn’t give a f*ck what people say about her because she was living her “truth”. Though she has been blamed for Meyiwa’s death, Kelly has remained strong in the midst of the backlashes.

She recently revealed in an interview on Real Talk with Anele Mdoda that she wanted to get the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper’s murder “out of her system.” This will help her move on with her life.
