Cassper Nyovest’s new hit Tito Mboweni has finally dropped and Twitter is going all kinds of crazy about it.

The rapper became the talk of the Twitter town on Friday when he released his much-anticipated single Tito Mboweni. Perhaps it was as a result of all the hype but just about 20 minutes after the song was uploaded to iTunes, it quickly climbed the ladder to the top spot. The hit track dominated both the hip-hop and general singles chart, blowing away his rival AKA in the process.

Apparently, Cassper lived up to his promise to fans that the single would be a number one hit. In addition to the song making it to the top spot on iTunes, it also became a major talking point on Twitter. Some users were even commenting without really listening to the track. As a result, it hit the trends list within minutes of its release.

Nonetheless, there were some who didn’t hide their feelings about not liking the song. While some tweeted about how amazing the song is, some others objected, saying it wasn’t worth the wait.

In other words, they are saying that the hype was actually better than the song itself.

Cassper and the ex-governor of Reserve Bank acted a little drama on Twitter before the release of the song which was named after the former governor. After Tito Mboweni saw Cassper’s cover for his new single, Tito Mboweni, set to be released on Friday, he decided to get his royalties. And for that, he needed a negotiator.

So, he called on EFF leader Julius Malema to do the job. Eventually, all was settled and Cassper announced on Twitter that he has the former governor’s blessings to release the single.
