Actors That Left The River

Lunga Shabalala

Lunga Shabalala, who was in the show from the first season as Lindani Dlomo, had to leave after the third because he needed to explore other things. He had another project he wanted to work on, so he left The River, but he expressed his sincere gratitude for the opportunity.

Senzo Ngqobe

The actor and musician left the show after acting in it for the first three seasons.

Warren Masemola

Warren left the show for a while after his character was taken out. But with the return of his character, he returned to continue giving his fans more entertaining actions.

Sello Maake Ka Ncube

Actor Lawrence Maleka

Lawrence Maleka exited the show after his character, Zolani, was arrested for murder. Lawrence left the show in October 2020, but there is no telling if he will come back to the show or not.

Larona Moagi exited The River after her character, Tumi’s role ended naturally in the show. She was featured in three seasons of the show (1-3). Although her exit was made to look natural, some viewers think the producers may have intentionally ended the role of her character due to her poor acting skills. According to iHararejobs, fans of the show had complained that she did not deliver her character well. Hence, there are suspicions that this may have triggered her exit.

Mary-Ann Barlow

Mary-Ann Barlow’s character, Gail, was killed by Lindiwe to get back her husband. This automatically led to the exit of Barlow from the show in season 2.

Yes, The River season 5 is coming. Initially, the production crew had shot lots of episodes that would last them for the year. So, they decided to wrap production for the interesting show. However, the team discussed renewal with Multichoice, and they agreed to start shooting for the next season.
