If you happen to be a lover of action and drama mixed with romance, you must know about the hit African telenovela, The Queen. Set in the heart of South Africa, this drama follows a female drug lord as she struggles to expand her cocaine empire while trying to eliminate her enemies and, at the same time, find love. Phew! It sounds like too much for one woman to handle, right? But Harriet Khoza isn’t just any woman.
Played by the indomitable Connie Ferguson – who is also the executive producer of this series – Harriet singlehandedly ran her business while managing to stay out of prison. The story also follows the lives of her children, business associates, rivals, and lovers. Trust me when I say that after the day’s stress, this is the perfect series to wind down to, with a glass of wine by your side. This series comes highly recommended, so don’t get too emotionally invested; you never know when your favorite character is about to die.
Recap of All That Went Down On The Queen In October 2021
Before we get into what this month has in store for us, let’s go back a little and recap what happened in October. Last month, we saw Brutus tighten his fists on the Khoza drug empire. This didn’t go down well with Harriet, and she responded by forming an alliance with the dubious Hector, a cop doubling as a drug dealer. Harriet is unaware of Hector’s ulterior motive – to be the biggest drug lord in the area – and so she teams up with him to be able to fight her enemies.
Her alliance with Hector was disapproved of by the men in the Khoza family, and someone hired a spy to watch Harriet’s every move; on the other hand, Georgina appeared to be on the scent of something big. After a dinner date with Hector is rudely interrupted, Harriet finally loses her patience. She and her lover decided then to end things, but both noticed immediately how difficult it was for them to stay away from each other. Georgina’s investigation revealed the fact that Hector and his daughter, Thabo, were complicit in drug-related crimes, and the revelation left her shocked.
Brutus became more brutish, and his behavior strained his and Harriet’s relationship further as family members began to notice. When Georgina saw that she couldn’t fight the Sebatas head-to-head, she decides to take a craftier path: the path of playing mind games. To achieve this, she tries to set Menzi against the Sebatas. When Thabo finds out what Georgina is doing, she decides to play along to the deadly game. Only one person will live after the game is over. Who will it be?
Meanwhile, Harriet is openly rebelling against the new king. Is she biting off more than she can chew? Is her alliance with Hector doing more harm than good? The answer to these and many more details will be revealed in the next couple of seconds.

List of Actors and Actresses Who Left the Show Recently
One interesting thing about television shows like The Queen is that they can be very addictive. Viewers form emotional attachments to these characters, and any news of a key actor’s exit is met with feelings of sadness. Some actors who have left the show in recent times include:
Earlier this year, in June, Loyiso announced that he would be taking his leave from the popular show to take up a career in stage acting. He played the character of Kagiso Khoza, Harriet’s brother. In the series, his character is expected to travel overseas and begin a new life.
Recently, Zandile received an injury on set and had to leave the show to recuperate. Her character was Vuyiswa Sebata. However, she was temporarily replaced and is expected to appear on the show’s 5th episode of Season 6.
Xolani is an incredible actor who played the character of Thato on the show. However, he was killed off very early in Season 6 in what was termed his best performance on the show. The actor plans to move on to better things after the show.
In the meantime, Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo was cast as the new Vuyiswa Sebata, following Zandile’s injury.
