A heartbroken actress Terry Pheto took to Instagram a few hours ago to announce the untimely passing of her beloved father.
Condolences poured in after Terry shared the sad news with fans on Tuesday night.
“Go on, go home. I am so broken. My Dad. My Hero,” she wrote.
Also, Terry’s manager, Wesley Mark Gainer confirmed the news in a statement.
“We are all saddened and devastated at this loss,” he said, adding that Terry was grateful for all the overwhelming support she’s received during this painful period. Wesley further asked that the family be granted private time to mourn.
“Terry thanks everyone for the well wishes. We ask that her time with family, at this stage be respected as they grieve the loss of their loved one,” the statement read.
Nonetheless, there are no further details about the circumstances surrounding the death. News about her father’s death comes just a few days after the actress jetted off on a holiday trip to Australia.
This must be hard for the South African actress who rose to fame through her role as Miriam in 2005’s Tsotsi. During a recent interview with DJ Fresh on 5FM Terry Pheto, said that she lived for her family. What gives her joy the most is knowing she can give them the best things in life.
“I live for them. So if I can give them the best of everything that’s reason enough for me to wake up.”
Back in July last year, the award-winning actress joined the queue of celebrities who were rumored to be dead on social media. Subsequently, Terry silenced the rumours and apologised to those who were left traumatized by her alleged demise.
