The 33-Year-Old Actress and Television Host was Born in Johannesburg, Soweto
Stephanie Sandows was born on the 29th of October, 1990. Although her exact place of birth hasn’t been revealed, verified reports have stated that she was born in Gauteng, the capital of Johannesburg. She grew up with her younger brother, Jason in their parents’ massive sprawling city home.
Sandows has not spoken much about her family, and so information about her family members and their whereabouts has been hard to come by. Nevertheless, it is not a secret that she attended the University of Johannesburg for her graduate and post-graduate studies. In fact, she has a Master’s degree in Linguistics courtesy of the prestigious university.
She Got Her First Acting Job By Writing Subtitles for the Scandal! Telenovela
While Stephanie was doing her post-graduate studies, she was able to secure a job, creating subtitles for the soap drama, Scandal! She was required to understand and translate the drama into various local South African language subtitles. While on this job, she lobbied for a part-time acting job as an extra on the show, and soon, she became a regular cast member. This happened in the year 2015, marking the beginning of a brilliant acting career. Stephanie played the character of Wesley Thompson’s (who was portrayed by actor, Zane Meas) daughter named Ingrid.
Later on in her career, she became a television host of the e.tv kiddies program, ‘Craz-e Kids’ alongside Thulisile Phongolo. It seems the actress had a knack for presenting children’s shows as she went on to host ‘Bonisanani’, a religious program for children. In 2017, Sandows was cast in the 5th installment of the MTV Africa hit television series, Shuga: Down South. She was cast as Tsholo, a presumptuous teenager who intended to make money through transactional sexual relationships.
She made a comeback for the show’s 2019 special, this time appearing as herself. Shuga: Down South premiered on the 17th of March in 2017 and featured prominent personalities like Given Stuurman, Nick Mutuma, Vanessa Mdee, and Lerato Walaza. Other movies she has featured to date include the 2020 horror film, The Hex, in which she starred alongside her husband, Hungani Ndlovu.
Stephanie Sandows Married Fellow Scandal! Actor, Hungani Ndlovu in a Private Wedding Ceremony in 2019
The love story of Stephanie and Hungani dates back to their Scandal! days. Ndlovu was already a regular on the show and played the role of an on-screen bad boy, Romeo when Stephanie came on board as a new cast member in 2015. By the next year, the two had hit it off and were officially an item.
Their relationship was a source of delight to fans of the show and this caused viewership rates to skyrocket. Three years later, they got married in a lavish but very private wedding ceremony on the 23rd of February in 2019, with only family members and close friends in attendance.
Still, Hungani and Stephanie decided to play coy and did not reveal that they had gotten hitched until the following year. In March 2020, they finally uploaded the video of their lavish and intimate wedding on their YouTube channel, ‘The Ndlovu’s Uncut’. The video gathered over 200,000 views in just two weeks of its release. Indeed a couple that keeps secrets together, stays together.
So Far, the Lovely Actress Doesn’t Have Children and is Still Adjusting to Married Life
Sometime last year, Stephanie Sandows, now Mrs. Ndlovu, took to Instagram to vent about her experiences during the first year of her marriage. She revealed that even though her automatic response would be to admit everything was fine, in reality, it was a series of “extreme highs and painful lows.”
The star actress, however, concluded that the experience was quite rewarding, overall. The two actors got married just before the coronavirus pandemic and currently have no children together.
Since her marriage to Hungani, there have been numerous loved-up photos of the couple on both of their Instagram pages. If their very obvious affection for each other is anything to go by, we don’t doubt that they can work through any issue and still come out strong on the other side.
Her Marriage to Hungani Ndlovu Has Not Escaped Cheating Slander by the Media
Sometimes, things are not as beautiful inside, as they appear to be from the outside. This might be the case with Stephanie and Hungani’s young marriage. Already, their union is being beleaguered by rumors of cheating and separations that fans of the couple can only pray they pull through.
We all know Hungani plays the problem child, Romeo on the telenovela, Scandal!. Apparently, the cheating rumors were ignited after an episode where Romeo hacked into Lindiwe’s (played by Nomvelo Makhanya) school’s website, in order to access examination questions. This was a storyline in the plot that had nothing to do with his marriage to Stephanie, but bloggers made the story out to mean that Hungani cheated on his wife – a rumor which was simply untrue at the time.
The second allegation of Hungani’s cheating came up after it was revealed that the actor was leaving the show after almost 6 years. The story going around was that the actor had begun an affair with a female co-star and was given an ultimatum by his wife, Stephanie. However, like the previous allegation before this, there has been no proof of any misbehavior on Hungani’s part and so, these stories might very well be false.
Whatever the case may be, we hope Mzansi’s favorite couple figure out a way to deal with these rumors. As far as we know, the couple is happy and living their best life.
