  • Cut the beef into slices
  • Mix the salt, sugar and bicarbonate of soda in a bowl
  • In another bowl, mix coriander and pepper
  • Rub vinegar on the meat, then put in a bowl of coriander and pepper

  • Take out and place in a bowl of salt, sugar and bicarbonate of soda for 3 hours
  • After this take out the meat and rub vinegar on it again, then hang to dry

The drying process may take more than 48 hours. Once this is done, your Biltong is ready.

  • Melted butter
  • White sugar
  • Egg yolk

  • Also, salt, vanilla extract, milk, egg white and cinnamon are needed.


  • First, heat a portion of the milk until it boils
  • Mix the remaining milk with the flour, extracts, egg yolk and salt
  • Once done,  add the mixture to the hot milk
  • Cook again until it turns thick.

  • Beat egg white until it stiffens
  • Then add to milk mixture once it is off the stove for 5 to 10 minutes
  • Mix in butter then pour into pans
  • Sprinkle cinnamon and set to cool

  • Put the boerewors or meat in a bowl

  • When the hour is up, thread the boerewors or meat through sticks without cutting
  • Place onion at the edge of the boerewors or meat on stick
  • Grill and cut between the sticks
