Skeem Saam Teasers November 2021: What is Going to Happen in the Month

Have you ever watched a TV show that was so addictive that it almost made you lose your job? Maybe we don’t want things to get that extreme; the money is essential, and we know that. But we also know that there is absolutely nothing worse than being stuck on a boring soap drama, especially when you’re trying to unwind after a hard day’s job. You need a show that is downright entertaining, that can keep you glued to your seat while you watch. The good news is that there is such a show: Set in the university township of Turfloop, the South African soapie, Skeem Saam comes to you in delicious bite-sized episodes and never gets old (or boring).

The series tells the story of these three young men, Noah (Austin Rethabile Mothapo), Koloi (Joseph Tshepo Senatle), and Clement (Vusi Leremi), as they find their ways around issues concerning love, education, sex, and money. The show first aired in October 2011 and has since gone on to become one of South Africa’s most beloved dramas surpassing heavyweights like ‘Uzalo’ and ‘DiepCity.’

The youth-oriented show has been rated one of the best shows, competing with ‘Generations’ as the most-watched series on SABC1. It became a hit with TV viewers of all generations. Its’ coming of age’ storyline has continued to set it apart from rival soapies, and it looks like Skeem Saam is here to stay as a staple TV show. The show was created by Winnie Serite and had been running steadfastly on SABC1 for the past 10 years.

Here’s An Overview Of What Happened On Skeem Saam In October 2021

If you’d like to catch up on your favorite show but don’t really have the time, then you are in the right place. Here, we give you the latest update on what is going down on the show, spicing it all up with little tidbits about your favorite Skeem Saam actors. So here’s what went down last month on Skeem Saam.

In the first October episode, we see Clement experience the most painful heartbreak ever from someone he thought was the love of his life. This is just the beginning of his downward spiral as the series progresses. Meanwhile, Lehasa and Nothile seem to be undecided about whether to be lovers or not. Pretty’s family cannot seem to catch a break as another scandal rocks the Seakamela family.

Meanwhile, Koloi, who has been frantically searching for a job, stumbles upon an advertisement for a competition. Believing the advert was a sign from God, he immediately applies, but after a bad dream, his self-confidence plummets instantly. Leeto’s plan to leave town is suddenly cut short when he gets roped into an armed robbery case. Somewhere else, an insecure and jealous Principal is worried about Alfred’s growing popularity; she decided to overwork Alfred as punishment.

Koloi messes up his presentation (or so he thinks), and he spirals into depression. Meikie, devious as always, draws up a grand plan to avoid going to jail, a plan that amazes Leeto. She and her husband, John, also continue to fall out on several issues. The Maputlas are attacked by armed robbers but were rescued by their neighbors, and Meikie gets a disturbing revelation from a sangoma about being under a heavy curse. Could the curse be the reason Meikie might go to jail? Will Pretty keep Lehasa’s baby? Find out the answers to these questions and more in the coming episodes.

Which Actors Left/ Returned To The Skeem Saam TV Series?

In the 10-year history of the show, there have been multiple cast shuffling at different intervals. This has always left mixed feelings among the viewers because some new cast members deliver and become as likable as the actors they replaced. More often, though, the older actors usually leave shoes too huge to fill, and any replacement leaves viewers unsatisfied. Some of the actors who have left Skeem Saam recently are listed below:

Cornet Mamabolo as Thabo “Tbose” Maputla

The actor announced his exit from the show last month. He said that he needed to take a break from acting to focus on his business. This leaves viewers wondering what would happen to his newly married character as Thabo “Tbose” on the show. Guess we’ll have to trust the show’s creators on this one.

Charles Maja as Big-Boy Mabitsela

Charles Maja, who played the role of ‘BigBoy’ on the show, suffered a stroke and passed on last year. His character was not replaced, and fans miss him dearly.

Nokuzona Mlengana as Sis Ouma

In July this year, it was announced that Nokuzona, who played Sis Ouma on the show, passed away at 58. This left viewers sad and confused as it was not the first time the show would be losing a key character to death. Her character hasn’t been replaced yet.

Among the actors who either returned to the show or freshly joined in 2021, we have:

Bongani Masondo

Masondo, who exited the show in its season 5 in 2015, will return to reprise his role as the infamous ‘Babymaker,’ one of the most mischievous characters on the show.

Mpho Molepo as Jazzy T

The actor joined the cast in July. He is to replace Karabo Mokhubela, who passed away last year.

Fundiswa Zwanes as Nandi

The South African actor will come on the set to play the role of Sifiso’s proud and stubborn housewife.
