Seven suspects will be dragged to the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town today for abducting and gang-raping a 13-year-old girl.
As learnt, the suspects are aged between 18 and 20. And the police are still searching for one more suspect.
The suspects reportedly gang-raped the girl after she was abducted and taken to a shack by one of them while she was walking alone in Robert Sobukwe Road in Nyanga.
Confirming this incident, police spokesperson FC van Wyk related that the teenager was kept at the shack and was only released the next day. Van Wyk praised the Family Violence unit saying their good investigative work led to the swift arrest of the suspects.
BuzzSouthAfrica also gathered from the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) that a Park road Warrant Officer is currently being roasted for raping a 32-year-old waitress.
As learnt, the 56-year-old Warrant Officer from Park Road SAPS in Bloemfontein grabbed the victim by the neck and raped her without a condom.
IPID narrated that the 32-year-old complainant went with the Park road Warrant Officer to his residence in Hillside, Bloemfontein to get some money.
Before then, the two had been drinking at a local tavern after being introduced to each other by a common friend.
When they arrived the Warrant Officer’s residence, “the suspect told the complainant to follow him inside the house. It is alleged that the complainant tried to leave the suspect’s residence, but the gate was locked. She went back to the house to ask the suspect for the keys, but the suspect grabbed her by the neck and threw her on the bed and raped her without a condom,” related IPID.
The victim reported the rape allegation to the police after the suspect accused her of stealing his cellphone, and the Park road Warrant Officer was subsequently arrested.
