SABC3’s drama series, Isidingo will be introducing some changes over the next few weeks in line with the re-launch of the TV station.
Starting from today, 19:00, the weekday soap will unveil yet another new title sequence. While the current title sequence identifies the major cast of the show, producers see the need for a change. The logical reason behind this is that some of the cast members have moved onto other projects. Thus, the opening credits have become outdated and needed to be renewed.
The Endemol Shine Africa produced soap last changed its on-air title sequence almost 6 years ago in June 2011.
Nonetheless, SABC3 says the Isidingo title sequence has “become outdated and need to be renewed to strongly echo the new vision of the show”.
In addition, executive producer, Pumla Hopa, says; “The show needs to represent the new SABC3 brand while still maintaining its thrilling and captivating story lines, all of which should be evidenced from the first few minutes of the show.”
Therefore, as from Tuesday, 4 April viewers will hear an updated version of the theme music on Isidingo. Also, the Isidingo title card lettering will switch from silver on black to a gold-plated effect. This will distinguish it from the title card of SABC2’s Venda language soap Muvhango.
The visuals set the mood for the stories and include graphics as well as images of the cast and the sets, while the music used is a modernized version of the theme that was previously used.
Viewers will experience the updated title sequence which is the start of more changes to the 18 year old Isidingo on Tuesday. Moreover, the next few months will see the soapie go through what Endemol Shine Africa calls “a re-vitalization process.”
Apparently, there’s an urgent need for the show to represent the new SABC3 brand while still maintaining its thrilling and captivating story lines.
