Taking to Twitter on Friday, SA House Music Icon Black Coffee revealed that his latest EP, The Journey Continues, has been certified gold.
Even more exciting is the fact that the record struck gold within 24 hours of its release on Friday.
DJ Black released the much-anticipated EP on Friday morning. After a few hours, he took to Twitter with the news that the record had gone gold.

As stated by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA), a single or EP would need to sell in excess of 10,000 units to be certified gold.

A lot of fans were excited about the release of the EP which got positive reviews on social media. Generally, Black Coffee’s slew of fans never disappoint. His last full-length album, Pieces of Me, remarkably went platinum a month and a half after its release.
SA House Music Icon Black Coffee has also bagged several awards this year as his hot award-winning streak continues. The latest was scooped at the 2016 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) which took place at the Eko Hotel and Suites Victoria Island, Lagos.
The ceremony was used to celebrate some of the biggest acts we have on the continent. Meanwhile, DJ Black Coffee who wasn’t so lucky at the 2016 MTV EMAs which was also held earlier smiled home with a prestigious award added to his accolades.
DJ Black beat several contenders to score the best male artist in Southern Africa award at the 2016 AFRIMAs. In fact, Black Coffee and Jimmy Dludlu were the only South Africans who walked away with prizes at the event.
Black Coffee beat the likes of AKA, Anatii, Cassper Nyovest, Dizu Plaaties, Jay Prayzah and DJ Maphorisa to win the Best Southern African Male award. Similarly, music icon Jimmy Dludlu received the Best African Jazz award.
