Top Billing: Ayanda Thabethe Joins The Family


Presenter Ayanda Thabethe has been announced as the latest addition to the Top Billing family.

During the SABC3 Media Launch on Thursday, the broadcaster announced that the BET A-List presenter has joined the award-winning TV lifestyle programme.

Shortly after it was made public, Ayanda took to social media to appreciate the opportunity. She responded by saying that she is super-proud to announce that she is the new addition to the Top Billing family.

Top Billing presenter Jonathan Boynton-Lee also welcomed her into the family.

Presenter Ayanda Thabethe joins a star-studded long line-up of presenters such as Jeannie D, Jo-Ann Strauss, Lorna Maseko, Bonang Matheba, Maps Maponyane, Roxy Burger and Top Billing presenter search winners Jonathan Boynton-Lee.

Ayanda’s Top Billing debut will be in April.

Meanwhile, the show has been moved to a new timeslot at 20:30 from Thursday 6 April.

The weekly show which started broadcasting since 1996 is the longest-running lifestyle programme in South Africa. It focuses on lavish lifestyle and matters about beauty, fashion, food, home decor, travel and weddings.

Each week, different local and international celebrities are interviewed on the show and a designer home is featured as part of the show.

International personalities including the First Lady of the United States, Ivana Trump, as well as Hollywood actor and Beverly Hills doctor, Dr. Rey have been featured on the show.

Also, local celebrities including rugby player Bryan Habana, singer Tamara Dey and Muvhango actress Ntahbiseng Mphahlele have appeared on the show.

In addition to covering people, popular events like awards ceremonies and fashion runway shows are also showcased. This often gives presenters the opportunity to travel to locations around the world and often partake in exclusive activities such as sky-diving, skiing, and scuba-diving. Exclusive and celebrity weddings are also covered.
