The 2017 Met Gala red carpet was lit with fashion sense like never before from the crème de la crème in the entertainment industry.
From the best dressed to the not-so-fab, we saw them all as New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art opened its doors for the annual event on May 1.
The event is an annual invitation-only fundraiser to benefit the museum’s Costume Institute and a launch party for its spring exhibition.
This year’s MET Gala had the theme “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between,” in honour of Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo, who founded the label Comme des Garçons. The renowned designer is known for pushing boundaries and making statements in the fashion world.
Apparently, the stars of Hollywood had this at the back of their minds when they stepped on to the 2017 Met Gala red carpet. And in case you missed all the glam, don’t worry, we got your back. Who knows, you might grab one or two tips from these celeb looks on the red carpet.

Talk of saving the weirdest for last. Will Smith’s son Jaden walked the 2017 Met Gala red carpet with his chopped dreadlocks in tow. He may appear normal at first glance with his all black ensemble, but that would be before you realise it’s a bunch of his own hair in his right hand.
When asked why he did it, he said – Why not? Besides, since his sister Willow couldn’t make it, he needed a plus so he brought his old hair as his date. Quite interesting.
