Been there, done that, Pearl Thusi has decided to offer some words of wisdom to Babes Wodumo in the wake of controversies surrounding her latest album Mercedes.
Having been in the entertainment industry for some time now, Pearl has had her fair share of hate and the pressure one has to face to please fans.
Thus, she shared some of her secrets with Babes who is at that point in her career. In fact, she’s currently in the middle of a storm.
A few weeks ago, Babes came under fire for naming her hit single Mercedes. Notably, the song coincidentally has the same name as a ‘killer drug’ which has been destroying lives in the country.
Moreover, when Wololo hitmaker Babes Wodumo took to the stage to perform at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) last weekend, her performance was met with several criticisms, with some saying there was no energy in it.
However, taking to Twitter after the MAMAs, Pearl who is no stranger to controversy advised the singer to keep her act together and never back down.
“Keep at it honey. Focus on what you love and don’t get distracted. Stay focused @Babeswodumo,” Pearl said.
Meanwhile, in response to the controversy surrounding her latest single Mercedes, Babes Wodumo is set to launch an anti-drug campaign. The campaign will help create awareness against substance abuse among the youths.
Babes’ management issued the following statement;
“In the aftermath of this unfortunate series of events Babes Wodumo has decided to come up with a campaign that seeks to create and address awareness against drug use amongst South African youth.”
When the campaign is all set, more details will be released.
