Reports have it that a parcel bomb exploded in an upmarket street Berea, Durban.
As learnt, Police and emergency services are already at the scene and, not fewer than three individuals were injured.
Confirming this incident, police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala related that the explosion happened after a family received a parcel.
The parcel exploded when they opened it, Gwala said and disclosed that “three family members sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital.”
Already, police are investigating the incident to determine the motive of the explosion.
Commenting, Garrith Jamieson, a Rescue Care paramedic on the scene said: “What we know now is that a parcel was delivered to the house. As they opened it inside the lounge, it exploded.
“The Bomb Squad is in attendance and will be doing further investigating,” added Jamieson.
From our gatherings, the bomb was implanted in a bunch of flower package which was delivered to a home at Steven Dlamini Road in Musgrave suburb.
