It was last week that BLF (Black First Land First) party called on “all” to unite and occupy ABSA.
BLF made the call to occupy Absa because “white people” more than two decades ago, “conspired and stole R26 billion from the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).”
Adding that ABSA has been instructed to pay back R3.2 billion of stolen amount by the Public Protector, Adv Busisiwe Mkhwebane, BLF expressed that the “white arrogance on display by CEO Maria Ramos is unrelenting.”
“Absa has black listed its clients, and seen many a black family homeless for far, far smaller amounts owed, yet they refuse to pay back the money that they stole from us.
(We) have since taking up this matter, has long maintained that the origin of all corruption and theft rests squarely on the shoulders of white land thieves and they have replicated this ingrained nature even in relation to the R26 billion stolen from SARB.”
Proclaiming that they’ve maintained the fight against white monopoly capital, BLF called on “black majority” to join them force ABSA pay back the money.
To BLF, black majority has shown its power in forcing black people to pay back smaller amounts.
“It is now time we show a level of superior logic and consistency. White people came and sowed the seed of theft and corruption. White people stole this R26 billion.
“We call on the black majority from across political, religious, cultural and/or various organizations to take direct action against ABSA, as we force Maria Ramos to pay back the money!
“BLF will lead a nationwide picket at 50 ABSA branches starting at 9am on Saturday, 28th of January 2017,” stated Andile Mngxitama’s party.
Reacting to BLF’s call, to occupy Absa the Fighters’ lord – Julius Malema – asserted that the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will never be instructed on how to fight Absa.
The EFF leader made the remarks at a post-plenary media briefing at the party’s headquarters in Johannesburg today.
According to him, his party won’t join the occupy Absa campaign because “the people who are calling for the occupation of Absa and that Absa pay back the money are on the Gupta payroll.”
While the EFF leader hinted that the Fighters would occupy Absa bank, he indicated that they wouldn’t make an announcement about it.
He divulged that the EFF has gathered knowledge about the best time to attack Absa. According to him, the best time to occupy the bank is after a repo rate announcement.
“We said we will do it and not announce it. Absa will just wake up one day with red berets all over. Every time you have an announcement of repo rate changes, Absa must panic,” Malema said.
Meanwhile, BLF also called on President Zuma to fire Pravin Gordhan.
To them, the silence of the Minister of Finance “on the shocking revelations that ABSA must pay back over R2 billion”, indicates that he is conflicted, compromised and captured by settler white monopoly capital.
“Gordhan has proven beyond doubt that his first priority is to defend white monopoly capital, not the national interests. He is not fit to be the Minister of Finance. This position requires a Minister with the capacity to discipline capital,” added BLF.
