Funny memes filled the streets of Twitter following the news of Nonhle Thema’s retirement from the entertainment industry.
TV personality Nonhle Thema confirmed on Wednesday that she has retired from the entertainment industry to focus on her new support group for young mothers.
According to Nonhle, she’s had her fair share of the industry. Thus she wants to do things differently by touching lives through the support group.
“I grew up and changed my focus. Now I’m exploring a new side of myself. I’ve been in this industry for a very long time and I want to do something different and make a real difference in people’s lives,” Nonhle said.
To buttress her point, the star took to Instagram to congratulate TV personality Bonang Matheba on her new presenting gig. She then announced that she has retired from the industry.
“Shout out to Bonang who’s holding it down proper in this presenting game…I’m so proud of her. I have retired and I’m happy the industry is in good hands.”
Shortly after her announcement, Twitter users had a field day poking fun at Nonhle Thema’s retirement. Aparently, she brought back memories with her announcement and the internet was happy to remind her she has already retired. One user pointed out the presenter retired about 10 years ago.
As a result, Twitter users inundated the platform with a string of memes and sarcastic comments poking fun at the announcement.

Meanwhile, Nonhle suggested that her retirement does not mean she will never return to TV in the future. In fact, the TV host hinted that the only thing that would bring her back is to promote her cause. Nonhle is really out to tackle the challenges faced by moms.
