EFF revolutionary and Commander-in-Chief Julius Malema has blamed the elite investigation unit; the Hawks for backing up the wrong horse, as regards to allegations leveled against Finance minister Mr. Pravin Gordhan.
Speaking at a briefing held by the EFF on Monday in Johannesburg; Malema said Gordhan’s business interests – which include his shares in South African banks and other companies should have been investigated and not the trivial unsubstantial allegations heaped on him.
The defiant party leader reasoned that Gordhan is practically faced with a conflict of interest since he (as Finance Minister) is expected to supervise financial institutions he allegedly has shares in.
“Pravin [Gordhan] has shares in all the companies you can think of, and then we are talking about state capture because the Guptas have captured Zwane. We don’t speak about how the Ruperts and they have captured Pravin and white monopoly capital has captured Treasury,” Malema alleged.
He also claimed that former finance minister Nhlanhla Nene; Trevor Manuel; and Gordhan have shares in the same companies. So, for him, it is a clear sign that they are all captured and are all working for white capital.
Juju also used the medium to plead with Gordhan to humbly present himself to the Hawks and stop putting up an attitude that suggests to South Africa and the world that he is above the law.
“Pravin must submit himself to the Hawks today; it doesn’t matter which drunkard is running the Hawks.”
Treasury Throws Weight Behind Gordhan
However, the Treasury immediately moved to refute Malema’s claims that Mr. Pravin Gordhan owns shares in many companies and was captured by white monopoly capital.
Gordhan, who is still in China for the Group of 20 Summit is yet to comment on the allegations made at a media conference by EFF leader.
Taking on President Zuma, the daredevil said if an opportunity presents itself; he would choose Pravin over Zuma because the minister is a better devil than Zuma.
If I had to choose between Zuma & Pravin, obviously I will choose Pravin not these criminals threatening stability & growth of our country.

He also revealed that he was advised to look into the “business interests” of Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe and Human Settlements Minister Lindiwe Sisulu.
I'm advised to look at the business interest of Jeff Radebe and Lindiwe Sisulu declared in Parliment then talk about state capture later…
