The Celebrity DJ Owes The Music Group, JazziDisciples, His Rise To Immense Popularity
The JazziDisciples was a musical group comprising JazziQ and sensational Amapiano artist Josiah. The duo met in a studio and realized that they had a similar interest in music. The two would go on to form the JazziDisciples crew, making great impacts in the Amapaino world through their songs and performances.
Although Tumelo was doing great and had a lot of followers before linking up with Josiah, his popularity soared immensely after they started making music together. Both JazziQ and Josiah were born in Alexandra and are talented producers.
The JazziDisciples Duo Has Since Parted Ways
JazziQ and Josiah are no longer together as members of the JazziDisciples. They parted ways on 21st August 2020, as confirmed by Josiah on Instagram. It was gathered that they went solo to focus on their individual careers; however, some unverified sources claim that the producers fell out because of a woman.
The report claimed that the two dated the same woman, who later became Josiah’s baby mama. It is said that Josiah, at some point, informed JazziQ that he wants to take a break from music to give more attention to his baby mama and family. Neither Tumelo nor Josiah has confirmed or denied the report.
Some sources believe their beef was further fuelled by Josiah’s claims that he carried the JazziDisciples music group alone. His statement didn’t sit well with Tumelo, and it ended up dividing their fans. During their three-year stint together, the JazziDisciples worked with many prominent musicians in the industry, including Kabza De Small, Cassper Nyovest, Black Coffee, Focalistic, Virgo Deep, Moonchild Sanelly, DJ Bucks, Busiswa, and Okmalumkoolkat.
They also released many songs and performed at shows, clubs, lounges, and top music festivals such as Afropunk Festival, Corona SunSets Festival, and YTKO 32 Hour Fest. Their fans are yet to get over the fact that they won’t be mixing songs together again.
The titles of their songs are
- Black Child XXV (2018)
- Bafana Ba Numba (2018)
- The Load Shedding (2018)
- IOP EP (2019)
- Disciples Of Piano (2019)
- Spirits Of Makoela (2020)
JazziDisciples duo was so exceptional that they quickly became a sensation shortly after their connection. They were known for creating dance music through a combination of live instruments such as flute, bass, keyboards, saxophones, percussions, and vocals with samplers, effects, and synths. Other elements of their music include afro house, house, and world music. As band members, Tumelo focused on basslines, kicks, vocals while Josiah concentrated more on melodies, chords, drums, and piano.
Both Josiah and JazziQ’s solo careers kicked off after the group went defunct. Like JazziQ, Josiah has an amazing music career as an independent artist. He recently released a solo album titled ‘Spirit Of Makoela Vol. 2 (The Reintroduction)’, which was well-received by piano fans. He was nominated for the Mzansi traxsource’s best of 2014. The North View High school and the University of Johannesburg (UJ) graduate was born in 1991.
JazziQ Is Not In A Marital Relationship Yet
DJ JazziQ is currently not in a marital relationship, nor is he in any known relationship with a woman. His personal life has been under wraps since he broke into mainstream success, and he hasn’t opened up about if he had previously been in relationships or not.
Tumelo does not have a baby mama, and it appears he is not ready to settle down yet. He is one celebrity who is hardly seen with women both in real life and on social media. However, JazziQ became the talk of the town in November 2021 after he uploaded a picture of himself and South African media personality Thuli Phongolo.
The picture quickly went viral and led some of his fans to speculate that the DJ and Thuli are in a serious relationship. It was also alleged that Thuli’s boyfriend, DJ Maphorisa, was having a serious beef with JazziQ due to his relationship with his girlfriend. In a YouTube video, the handsome DJ denied having anything to do with Phongolo, stating that they are just “mates” and nothing more. He also made it clear that he was not having any issue with DJ Maphorisa, as widely speculated.
Phongolo later came out to address the issue on Twitter. She denied dating JazziQ and affirmed that she is single and not dating anyone. Thuli was said to be dating Master KG before dumping him for DJ Maphorisa, an allegation she vehemently denied later. She has also been linked to former president Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane Zuma, but she also denied having anything to do with Duduzane. Apart from Thuli, JazziQ hasn’t been linked with any woman, and it’s unclear if he plans to settle down any moment from now.
