Towards the end of last year, TV personality Minnie Dlamini surprised everyone when she suddenly announced that she got engaged but didn’t share the juicy details.
Nevertheless, a few months after, she has decided to open up about how the magical moment went down.
In a recent interview on The Real Goboza, Minnie shared how her fiancé, Quinton Jones popped the million-dollar question.
According to Minnie, her work which comes with a lot of travelling had kept them apart for a while. But, when she finally came home, her man decided they deserved a little weekend getaway. Thus they went to a serene environment, away from the hustling and bustling of the city.
“We drove to a bush lake house, and when we got there, he had arranged some of my favorite food and stuff. It was a beautiful house and at sunset he literally went like ‘pour me a glass of champagne’. I got the kitchen, poured him a glass, poured myself a glass, and we go outside, and I was just looking outside and thought it was pretty,” she said.
While Minnie was admiring the sunset and sipping on some bubbles, she heard Quinton call her.
“And he was like ‘baby’, and I was like ‘yes’, and he was like ‘baby!’ and I was like ‘what?!’ and then I turned around, and he was on his knee.”
Now, she didn’t see that coming and even thought he was joking. However, it turned out he was very serious.
“I was a bit shocked for a while, I could not believe it. He has this tendency, every time he buys me jewellery, he goes on one knee and asks me to marry him, so I thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t, he was serious, I started crying and eventually said yes,” Minnie said.

Subsequently, Minnie said she first broke the news to her mom, her brothers, then her dad and finally her best friend. Her engagement caused quite a stir on social media. And if her recent statement about not planning to stay engaged for long is anything to go by, the couple should be walking down the aisle soon. Minnie and Quinton had been dating for two years before they got engaged.
