While shading the public broadcaster, Twitter users lamented about the departure of DJ Glen Lewis from the radio station.

Following news of his apparent departure from Metro FM after 22 years, Twitter users took to the platform to express the feelings. There was panic on Twitter after news that DJ Glen Lewis is leaving Metro FM for Touch HD on Wednesday morning.

The veteran DJ who joined Metro FM since 1995 has attained a strong fan-base. Subsequently, when they heard he’s leaving, they lamented that they have been “robbed.”

Thus, taking to Twitter, Glen’s fans could not hide their feelings on how devastated they are about the move. Also, they didn’t mince words in pointing out that Glen’s move “proves” that Metro FM is in a big mess.

The radio DJ is leaving Metro FM to join his former colleague Tbo Touch at his new online radio station Touch HD. The migration was confirmed by Touch HD spokesperson Lulu Ndevu who said that both Glen Lewis and Tim Modise joined the station. The station aims at getting the best in the business on board.

In the bid to create a bigger and better online listening experience for his audience, radio mogul Tbo Touch threw in R28 million to relaunch his online radio station Touch Central under a new name – Touch HD. This is all an attempt to make major changes to its line-up and mode of operation.

Meanwhile, Glen’s departure from the broadcaster may have been as a result of the imminent reshuffling at the station.

There were reports that Metro FM is in the process of switching presenters in what has been called its biggest shuffle in its history. Apparently, most of the affected staff were not happy about it, as it will separate best friends. Besides, some might be paired with people they don’t really get along with.
