Fans quickly called the record label out for deliberately leaving rapper Riky Rick out on the Mabala Noise poster for the MMAs celebration concert.
Following the rumours making rounds, Mabala Noise has had to set the record straight on the supposed snub of rapper Riky Rick, whose name does not appear on the poster announcing the line-up for the concert.
The poster which was shared by the record label on social media caused quite a frenzy among fans. Subsequently, they couldn’t help but notice that Riky Rick was not on it. Apparently, the rapper’s rant at the just concluded Metros fueled the frenzy.
Thus, it wasn’t long before fans noticed that Rikky wasn’t featured on the Mabala Noise poster. The line-up included most of Mabala’s big shots including Nasty C, DJ Bongz, Lvovo, Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandie, Musa and Robbie Malinga.
Notwithstanding, Mabala Noise rubbished the rumours that Riky Rick was deliberately left out.
According to Mabala Noise spokesperson Mhlo Gumede;
“Not all our signees are there. Mroza sings maskandi so he can’t be there. Our gospel artists such as Thokozile Langa is not there. Not everyone is there. There are people who won the Metros and those that did not. The line-up was made depending on who is relevant to the club and who has bookings on that weekend.”
Shortly after the Metro FM Music Awards ceremony, the record label made headlines for allegedly buying the awards to favour their artists. Also, Riky was perceived as not being on good terms with the stable since he kind of started the rumours about the stable. The rapper blatantly dissed the entire music and radio industry during his acceptance speech at the awards show.
