In addition, the statement also alleged that Gumede is embezzling money from the company. Thus, Mabala Noise is currently pursuing criminal charges against the former employee who has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

The statement read:

“It is alleged that Gumede has been extorting monies from up and coming musicians with the promise to give them recording deals. He has also been embezzling money from the company‚ thus the company has pursued criminal charges against Gumede.”

Gumede is married to singer Kelly Khumalo’s sister, Zandile Khumalo.

In the wake of the shocking reports of embezzlement, Mabala Noise Entertainment is also undergoing internal restructuring which includes releasing and giving clearance to some of its artists.

The owner of the label, Reggie Nkabinde assured us that the decision to let some artists go was not an irrational one.

“It’s never an easy decision to part ways with people who were previously an integral part of your team or ecosystem. The decisions I make at Mabala Noise are always well thought through and are never emotional. I will maintain the personal relationships I have with former colleagues and artists, and I wish all of them the best in their future endeavours,” Reggie said.
