From our gatherings, the criminal – Lwandile Yeko – was serving a 25-year sentence for two murders, housebreaking, and car theft.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut, it was discovered on Tuesday that Yeko was no longer in his cell.

Traut said the police are investigating how he managed to escape. However, it has been reported that he escaped after he cut through the bars of his window.

Yeko was sentenced to 25 years in September 2008 for the murder and attempted murder.

Then, the judge that presided over his case remarked that he escaped being sentenced to life imprisonment because of his age.
