By launching an online radio which focuses on youths, radio veteran Linda Sibiya has become the latest radio personality to join the online radio team.
Vibes from the youth station will hit the sound marines from February next year. Tagged Magic Radio Online, the online radio station will play hip-hop, house and all kinds of music that are pleasing to the ears including maskandi music.
Linda is out to make this work since it’s a project that will see him return to radio after leaving Vuma FM in June. Thus, he wants to make sure he gives his best to the project. And to explore his horizon to the fullest, Linda will also be streaming the radio station on Facebook. Now, that’s something to look forward to.
When Linda Sibiya retired from radio back in June, he revealed that he was looking forward to pursuing other projects in addition to spending time with his family.
“I did morning shows for many years and that meant I never had time to take my kids to school, and I also never spent quality time with my family because I was busy. I want to go home to eShowe (north of KwaZulu-Natal) to relax, to be able to go to church and just be a normal Linda Sibiya,” he told the publication.
According to Linda, the project is the fulfilment of a four-year dream, which he first proposed to the SABC back in 2012. However, he’s not planning to encroach on his retirement years to work on the station.
“I plan to present a show maybe for a year, and then let young people run with it,” he said.
Apparently, he just wants to get things going and leave the rest for the younger generation to handle.
