Knysna Fires: Celebs Set To Raise Funds For Victims Via What They Do Best

In the name of charity, some of the country’s biggest musical acts will mount the stage to raise funds for three charities assisting the unfortunate victims of the horrific Knysna fires.

The Knysna fires engulfed and ravaged the town last week with fatalities in toll. The fires, which claimed the lives of seven people, including a firefighter and a four-year-old, destroyed homes and displaced more than 10 000 people.

While the fires razed down a whole community, we all watched in horror, hopelessly wishing we could do more to help. Well guess the opportunity has come for everyone to contribute to the cause. With many organizations pleading for donations, a group of musicians heard their call and decided to help the best way they can.

Thus, they are working on a show which has quickly grown into a big music festival. This will hopefully help in raising a lot of money to help the victims of the natural disaster.

So far, the artists involved in the charity event include; GOODLUCK, Rubber Duc, Majozi, Jo Black, Roan van As, Dawie de Jager as well as a few other special performers who will be performing live at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria on the 25th of June.

Subsequently, the proceeds from ticket sales will be split amongst three charities – The Gift of the Givers Foundation, the largest disaster response NGO of African origin on the African continent, The Knysna Animal Welfare Society and iTickets #SAVEKNYSNA Disaster Fund.

Tickets are already on sale at just R80 for the early birds before the price increases to R120 and R150 at the door. In addition, there’s also an opportunity for those who wish to donate more.

Moreover, there are costs involved in the event which the organisers hope to settle in any way possible. As a result, a clarion call has been put out and anyone who’s able to help is advised to email [email protected]
