The 27-year-old witness from the Lentegeur police station narrated that the suspects were just dropped and not signed in yet.

“The policeman told them they must wait. He is a sergeant. He shouted to his colleague to open up and when the colleague threw the keys to him, it fell on the ground.”

The sergeant bent down to the ground to pick up the keys and four of the suspects ceased the opportunity to jump over a wall where as one ran away through the main gate.

Although the suspects who are expected to make an appearance at the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court are yet to be identified due to some legal reasons, the witness revealed thus; “most of these guys are Americans and some are Fancy Boys.”

Commenting on the issue, Michael Jacobs of the Mitchell’s Plain Cluster Board stated that the incident will raise talks about security at the station. To him, it is worrisome for the incident to occur despite the “cameras all over and the highest of security” gadgets.
