Members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have issued prior warning of potential violence from them if the upcoming local government elections are rigged by the ruling party.
The party referred to how the Gauteng branch of the African National Congress (ANC) rigged the 2014 general elections, threatening that there will be radical consequences if the rigging should happen again.
Speaking for EFF members, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says they’re not scared of conflict and that they are always prepared for whatever the ruling party may bring to the table.
“Are we not scared of a civil war in the defence of our revolution? No we’re not.”
Ndlozi made it crystal clear that as long as local government elections are rigged, they are prepared to react even if they have to use arms to make sure they achieve their goal.
“If they rig the elections, and respond with violence, they must know we’re prepared. We’re not going to be peacetime revolutionaries; we’re going to be prepared to defend our revolution with arms.”
In an interview with Al Jazeera, the Leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Julius Malema has threatened they will not hesitate to get rid of the present administration using a barrel of a gun’ if the government and the ANC forces them to.
Malema added that if the African National congress (ANC) continues to try their patience by violently interrupting their peaceful protests, they would have no option but to effectively fight back with all they have.
“We will run out of patience very soon and we will remove this government through the barrel of a gun,” he told the interviewer Jonah Hull.
When his interviewer asked how far he was willing to go in his ‘war’ against President Jacob Zuma reminding him of his 2014 threat to make the entire Gauteng province ungovernable, Malema said
“We have the capability to mobilize our people and fight physically.”
