Gomora explores the intricacies of a traditional South African society complete with the occasional, albeit a somewhat uneven struggle between the rich and the poor in a community to gain the upper hand in a battle for natural and economic resources.
The tricks, sabotage, and outright violence displayed in the show are just a few factors that continue to draw viewers to the show every weekday. The intriguing storylines help to put the show on the same platform as shows such as Skeem Saam and Scandal.
A Recap of What Happened on Gomora in April 2022
April 2022 episodes of Gomora did not disappoint, and if anything, it made the show even more appealing to the lovers of the show with the tense moments and amazing cliffhangers it produced over the month. If you missed the April episodes, you also invariably missed seeing Phumlani and Melusi resorting to a fistfight to settle their disputes.
April 2022 also saw the end of the second season of the show. In the finale, fans witness Melusi handing himself over to the authorities and Gladys throwing a party to celebrate her divorce.
Season 3 also premieres in April, and the opening act sees Thathi declaring her intentions to be finally done with Phumlani while Ntokozo and Gladys become aware of Melusi’s arrest. April ends with Gugu and Tshiamo learning a shocking secret about Phumlani and Thathi washing up following the murder.

Gomora Recently Lost a Cast Member, But There’s Also a New Arrival
Over the past few weeks, there have been reports that Zolisa Xaluva, who plays the role of Principal Melusi Dlamini, has left the show amidst speculations that he has had a falling out with the show’s runners. The cause of this falling out is currently unknown, but we know for sure that the actor has left the show.
The same reports also reveal the addition of a new actor in the person of Fezile Makhanya, who has appeared in other TV series such as Muvhango, Isono, The Queen, and The River. There have been suggestions that Fezile Makhanya will replace the departed Zolisa Xaluva as the new principal or play the role of a new villain.
The uncertainty that these speculations create makes for an even more interesting month of May as fans can’t wait to see new episodes of Gomora.
