Popular SABC 1 soapie Generations: The Legacy has welcomed Angolan actress and TV personality Weza Solange into their fold.
According to reports, the Big Brother alumni will be joining the crew as a supporting actress.
Via a statement on Wednesday, Generations: The Legacy publicist Gaaratwe Mokhethi confirmed the exciting news.
“She will not be playing a major role but will be a supporting actress in the Tau Mogale story line,” Gaaratwe said. The soapie refused to reveal too much of the juicy details about her character. However, we can be sure that she will be playing an Angolan.
Meanwhile, the former Big Brother contestant Weza Solange has already commenced filming with the soapie. She is set to grace your screens in about two or three months from now.
Weza also posted a picture hinting at the news on Instagram on Wednesday.
In the meantime, much -loved actress Connie Ferguson bid farewell to the soapie few months ago to fly solo. The long rumored news about Ferguson’s departure come to reality as the generations family confirmed it.
A statement released by the soapie’s producers on its website read:
“It is with great disappointment that we have to announce the departure of the much-loved Karabo Moroka‚ played by the talented Connie Ferguson. She’s working on a couple of projects that need her undivided attention and has asked to be released from her contract. Generations.”
The Generations family wished her well in her endeavours.
Nevertheless, after her exit from Generations: The Legacy, Ferguson made a dramatic return to the entertainment industry. It was a long wait, but Ferguson’s performance in the much anticipated new drama series entitled was intriguing. It was simply worth the wait and fans were already looking forward to the next episode shortly after it premiered.
