His second company majored in importing and exporting items like television sets, Ribena juice, and motor spare parts to some African countries, particularly Nigeria and Liberia. A Look At The Setbacks His Business Has Faced And Challenges He Faced

Things may look so rosy from the outside for Frank Buyanga, but everything is not as beautiful as most people think. The business tycoon has been through several trials, challenges, and hard times over the years, but he manages to emerge victorious each time.

Here are the known difficulties he has been through and how he was able to pull through.

1. Gold Coins Case With SARS

Frank Buyanga is currently in a court battle with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) after the tax collection agency raided his girlfriend’s apartment on October 26, 2020, and seized his Kruger Gold coins worth R600 million, cellphones, watches, and jewelry.

Buyanga’s girlfriend Melinda Busi Dube was living in his mansion in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, when the incident happened. In his court papers, the businessman mentioned that the gold coins are part of trading stock for one of his companies, AMG.

Apart from SARS officials seizing his Gold coins that weighed over 565 kilograms, Buyanga added that they did not act professionally because they failed to make the purpose of the raid public.

Meanwhile, the businessman has since put up his Hyde Park mansion for sale on a property website following the raid. The property’s price tag is R18 million ($1.23 million).

2. Loan Lending/Interpol’s Red Notice List Saga

Before his enlistment on Interpol’s red notice list, Buyanga was doing great in his loan lending business. Usually, people use their house to collect these loans and then repay them at the agreed time.

However, it happened that some people could not pay in due time, and Frank had to file court cases in a bid to recover his money. It got to the point that people became disgruntled with him and his business as they resisted letting go of their houses which they used as collateral.

The government eventually stepped into the case and flagged the business as loan fraud. However, the day he was to appear in court, he didn’t show up because he had been arrested. He alleged that the complainants deliberately made the police arrest him so they could lie against him in court.

Frank was then flagged on the Interpol red notice list by the Zimbabwean National Prosecuting Authority. His photograph was also placed on the same page with other criminals already on the watch list of Interpol.

However, his lawyer was able to get the case resolved, leading the office of the National Prosecuting Authority to reverse the red notice and also give him the green light to travel anywhere.

The court ruled that he did not commit any crime and had every legal right to take over the defaulters’ properties because they defaulted from fulfilling the condition of the loan, which has legal backing.

Although this development had a negative effect on the legitimate business, the fact that he was vindicated in the long run earned him respect and more clients.

3. Impoundment Of His Rolls-Royce

Frank Buyagna’s Rolls Royce was impounded in 2010 by SARS for allegedly failing to provide proof that the car was not stolen. The businessman, however, insisted that the car (which he imported from the United Kingdom) was bought at an auction in 2018.

In the long run, Frank was vindicated after the company through which he bought the car provided evidence proofing that he followed due process in importing the luxury car and that it was not stolen, as alleged by the tax collection agency.

Frank Buyanga’s Car Collection

Frank Buyanga has great taste when it comes to cars. He is known for his love for exotic cars that cost a fortune. Interestingly, his garage does not house one or two of such cars; rather, he has over seven luxury cars.
