Again, EFF Fights Its Way To The Admiration Of South Africans

The Fighters said they have prevented many illegal evictions that are carried out by corrupt ANC government.

Thus, the party asserted that ANC has no regard for poor people. And, declared that they are the last hope for all the people of South Africa.

This follows the judgment of the South Gauteng High Court. The judgement prevented the City of Joburg from evicting residents of Setjwetla, Alexandra in the City of Johannesburg.

EFF said the illegal evictions started when the City of Johannesburg started demolishing houses and shacks of destitute and poor residents citing different reasons for different evictions.

The party stated: “Setjwetla is an informal settlement in Alexandra where the City of Johannesburg is distributing one-roomed shacks to the people as part of their human settlements plan.

The local leadership of the EFF in Setjwetla and Alexandra brought the matter of eviction to the attention of the Head Office of the EFF. We promptly applied for an interdict against these evictions that are happening on the eve of elections.”

As learnt, the South Gauteng High Court ruled that “City of Joburg is interdicted and prohibited in any manner from demolishing, vandalizing, and destroying the shacks situated at the Old Setjwetla Informal Settlement, Alexandra, City of Johannesburg without a court order.

EFF welcomed the court rule stating: “The City of Joburg must reconstruct the settlements they already destroyed. (It must build) proper human settlement infrastructure (houses and family units) for the people of Setjwetla.

For more than 20 years (they) have been forced to stay in inhabitable spaces. If there is political will, Setjwetla can be turned into high rise human settlement buildings and shelter for all the people.”

With that, EFF called on the people of Alexandra to reject the ANC. EFF said the ruling party gave the people empty promises and yet failed to deliver basic services to them.
