Does Daliwonga Have a Twin and Is Sir Trill His Brother?

Amapiano star Daliwonga allegedly has a twin brother named Dalindyebo Matiwane, who is an up-and-coming musician. Even though it was speculated that fellow Amapiano artist Sir Trill was his blood brother, the ‘Ghost’ singer is said to be his cousin.

While Daliwonga and Sir Trill have collaborated on some projects, the former is yet to work with his twin Dalindyebo since their relationship came to light.

Who is Daliwonga’s Twin Brother?

In July 2020, Daliwonga Matiwane made an appearance on Hlengiwe Dongo’s YouTube show titled Who’s the Most Likely to? Interestingly, he was not the only guest on the show, as he was featured alongside his twin brother, Dalindyebo Matiwane.

Both sat on either side of the host, which made it easier for fans to clearly dictate the striking resemblance between the two Matiwanes, although Dali seems to have a lighter complexion.

It was obvious that they bear the same surname, and with the two looking alike, it was concluded the ‘Yelele’ crooner has a twin brother. Of course, Daliwonga is a private person who doesn’t disclose much about his personal details. As a result, there’s little to no information regarding his family background.

After their appearance on the show, the two were hardly seen together publicly. However, to confirm the much-speculated rumor about them being twins, Daliwonga and Dalindyebo celebrated their birthdays together on June 15th, 2022, hosting a lavish party for their friends and family at Propaganda Club in Pretoria.

Even though pictures of Dali are hardly sighted on Daliwonga’s Instagram account, the reverse is the case with his twin. Not only does Dalindyebo post pictures of his brother, but also promote his new music release on the social media platform.

What Does Dalindyebo Matiwane Do For a Living?

Like his twin brother, Dalindyebo Matiwane is a music artist who has released a few songs over the last few years. In December 2021, he collaborated with amapiano artists―Zulu Mafia, DJ Stoks, and Hlaks to drop a hit song titled “Uyawisha.” Also, together with his brother, Dali hosted a star-studded show for his birthday celebration titled Dali’s Birthday Celebration on June 26th, 2021.

The show, which was held at Bizza’s Lifestyle Mogogelo, featured the likes of Mr. JazziQ, Felo Le Tee, DJ Banques, Bontle Smith, and Mellow & Sleazy. Dalindyebo grew up with his brother in Diepkloof, Soweto, in Gauteng. Both developed a special interest in music from a young age and has gone on to pursue their dream career professionally.

Does Daliwonga Have Other Siblings?

It’s no secret that Daliwonga is meticulous about what he shares with the public. As a result, there are vague details about his parents and siblings in the media. He held the information about him having a twin close to his chest for many years before Hlengiwe Dongo’s Youtube video went viral.

Besides Dali, the “Friends With Benefits” hitmaker is not known to have any other siblings, as he hasn’t disclosed that to his fans. He might however have other siblings but decided to keep them away from the scrutiny eyes of the media.

Are Daliwonga and Sir Trill Brothers?

Rumors about Sir Trill and Daliwonga being siblings began making rounds on Twitter and other social media platforms when DJ Lamiez shared a post about them being blood brothers on Twitter in December 2021. Not only did she suggest that they were siblings, but she equally hinted that Sir Trill is the oldest.

Following her post, social media was set abuzz. Many South Africans reacted to the rumor by agreeing with the DJ that the two look alike and have a close relationship, having worked together on some occasions. Undoubtedly, DJ Lamiez must have drawn her conclusion from Sir Trill’s response to DJ Sabby during an interview on YouTube in July 2021.

When asked whether Daliwonga Matiwane was his cousin by DJ Sabby, the amapiano artist affirmed that the ‘Chameleon’ singer is his blood relation. He actually cited that Daliwonga is his brother with reference to the African culture that takes cousins to be brothers and sisters. Nonetheless, many still think that his answer wasn’t clear enough. Consequently, the rumor about them being siblings is yet to be put to rest.

On Dalindyebo’s Instagram handle, the trio―Daliwonga, Sir Trill, and Dali, can be seen in one of his posts hanging out together. And this points out that they have a somewhat close relationship as a family. The truth about their connections has been hard to establish due to the fact that Sir Trill and Daliwonga are very private about their family details.
