The king of Gwara Gwara DJ Bongz had eyes popping out when he offered an attractive bounty amounting to R10 000 for the safe return of his stolen cellphone.
This may sound ridiculous to anybody who hears it, but the owner of the lost phone has his reasons for attaching so much importance to a mere cellphone.
The thing is, it’s not actually the device that holds value to the musician‚ but what he had stashed on it.
Apparently, DJ Bongz used the cellphone to store some music that he had been working on and to him, this piece is irreplaceable. He made the offer promising not to ask any questions when the phone is returned.
“Anyone who can return my phone I’ll give them R10 000. I have songs I have composed on that phone and lots of important information. I won’t ask any questions‚ I just need the phone‚” DJ Bongz says.
The missing cellphone was snatched from his pocket while he was at a popular Pretoria nightclub over the weekend where he was supposed to perform, the musician explained.
The musician alleged that he noticed that the phone went missing shortly after a fan asked to take a picture with him.
“Saturday night in PTA @ a night club called TopFlo some guy stole my phone. Asked to take a picture with me n took my phone from my pocket. Yaz I could sense there was something going on but angicabanganga kuthi (I didn’t think) he might be taking my phone‚” DJ Bongz said posted on his Facebook page.
From all indications, the bounty is more attractive than the cellphone and with any luck, Bongz will get his phone back followed by the new song he was working on.
